Sr. Material/Pavement/Geotechnical Engineer for Construction Supervision

Will be employed at head office and site with intermittent assignment, according to project’s requirement.

Qualifications and Skills
• University degree in Civil engineering preferably with multiple postgraduate degree(s) (Master’s Degree or Ph.D in pavement of the roads and geotechnical engineering.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Computer literacy (MS Office applications).

Professional Experience
• At Least 5 years of experience in construction of roads, quality control for road/bridges/building working in similar capacity large size road construction projects. Experience in review of flexible pavement designs, establishing QA/QC procedures, setting up laboratories, mix designs and testing procedures.

Age Limit
Not exceed 60 years.

The duties of the Consultant shall include, but not limited to:

(i) Finalize specifications of various construction materials for pavement construction and standard tests on construction materials as well as on completed works;

(ii) Assist the Team Leader in establishing effective implementation procedures;

(iii) Assist Team Leader/Resident Engineer with the certification of the due quantity and quality of all works, based on cross-checking of on-site approvals by the Field assistant Resident Engineers;

(iv) Standardization of tests and quality requirement for all geo-technical and material exploration (both soil and rock) for bridges and drainage crossings, high embankment, cut slope susceptible to erosion/ land slide; various laboratory testing of soil samples;

(v) Review and ensure that the pavement design meets the contract specifications;

(vi) Review and approve the mix deign of asphalt binder and wearing courses submitted by the contractor, and it meet the requirement of the contract specifications.

(vii) Review geotechnical investigation requirements of the project;

(viii) Liaise with the Bridge/Structural Engineer on the geotechnical requirements for bridge design
